GURUGRAM: In December 2024, in a meeting held to discuss the metro expansion plans and development of New Civil Hospital in Gurgaon, Nayab Singh Saini, the Chief Minister of Haryana has announced that the construction of the new metro line will begin from 1st May 2025, where the project is expected to be completed in 4 years.

The metro line will span 28.5 km and have 27 stations. The trains running on this corridor will have 3 coaches which will be later increased to six. The metro line will extend from Millennium City Center (previously known as Huda City Center), connecting Subhash Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, Sector 9, and Palam Vihar to Cyber City.

With the focus to enhance the infrastructure of the city, the cost of the project has been estimated to be around Rs.5452.72 crore, which will be funded by both the Haryana Government and the Central Government. During the meeting, the CM of Haryana has also asked the officials to ensure smooth traffic flow, minimizing inconvenience to the public during the construction process.

The detailed report on the metro line expansion plan has been approved by the Central and Haryana Government. Along with the expansion plan, the project also included development of underpasses and flyovers.
